TAKE A HIKE-LITERALLY!

Start at Poklon Pass (922 m)—easily reachable by car from Ičići (12 km) or bus line 34 from Opatija (Sundays only)—and wind your way up to Vojak, the park’s highest point at 1,396 meters. The climb takes about 90 minutes, and the reward is a jaw-dropping panorama from a stone tower lookout. On clear days, you can see Kvarner Bay, Istria, and far across the sea. This is the “wow” moment your camera roll’s been waiting for.

For serious leg-stretchers, this 4.5-hour trail from Lovran’s Tourist Office is a full-on nature adventure. Meander through the villages of Liganj, Dindići, Ivulići, and scenic spots like Kaluža and Oplovac. Catch your breath with village views and forest paths before climbing the final ridge to the summit. This route is all about the journey—and the epic view at the end.

Start in Medveja, about 100 meters before the campsite entrance, and trek through vineyard valleys, whispering fir forests, and rocky karst terrain. This 5.5-hour hike leads through Lovranska Draga and continues uphill to Mala Učka before reaching Vojak. It’s a little wilder, a little more remote, and a whole lot of fun for the trail-hungry.

Mala Učka, the highest village in Istria, sits at 995 meters and offers a rustic slice of mountain life. Once known for its sheep’s milk cheese, today it’s home to just a few weekenders and one remaining family of shepherds. Ideal for wanderers and weekend explorers looking to stroll instead of scale.
